Chessington School launches Sixth Form Cricket Academy 2021
Chessington School is opening their doors to cricketing students from September 2021 who want to continue their studies alongside playing cricket. We are looking to recruit talented Year 11 Cricket players (boys and girls) who want to combine their passion for the sport with their commitment to Sixth Form academic study.
Experienced, qualified coaches and school staff lead students through the programme, ideal preparation for a career in sport, sports apprenticeships, university, and other pathways. The sports qualifications delivered at Chessington School are BTEC and A level. These courses give good technical training and education providing a vocational alternative to A Levels and the opportunity for successful students to progress to Higher Education. The government-funded programme offers students a unique mix of education and personal development through engagement with cricket.
The cricket will take place across two days in the week run by Twenty20 Community Cricket's experienced coaching team, with a mixture of training and classroom sessions. There will also be matches across the year, indoors and outdoors.
Please read the brochure for more information. We plan to have an open afternoon in December, more details to follow.
